Doctor Andrew J. Sampalis on gum disease treatment
When patients come to the office, at first visit we’ll take x-rays for adults, we’ll check the tissue levels, check for gum disease, and if we see someone that has issues that need to be resolved, you know, we’re going to treat that aggressively, well, as aggressively as is needed. We’ll give them some tools to take home with them, to help them with their home care, give them some information, and stress to them that if they just go home and do the same things that they’re used to, they’re going to end up in the same place that they were when they started. So we’re going to treat them, help get their gum tissue back to health, and give them the tools so that when they go home they can maintain it.
People that have a more severe problem, those people we might refer out to a specialist to have, you know, gum treatment done for them. People that aren’t in a bad situation, we’re going to give them the tools to take care of themselves with our help on a regular basis.
